Human Dissections
d'Agoty Human Dissections Reproductions in progress
SO excited to share this with you all.
Mike has put so much time into these restorations. (My only task was the gold foiling around the trim and creating this post, so he deserves all the much deserved praise.)
Essentially, he spent countless hours digitally restoring two diptychs by 18th century French painter Jacques Fabien Gautier d’Agoty and then custom building/recreating the original frames as well. They are at about 1/4 scale of the originals and absolutely breathtaking in person. (If we were in a better financial spot, I’d actually insist we keep them.)
I hope it’s obvious that so much love and passion go into all the things we create and pieces like this are absolute proof of that.
These will be at any upcoming Oddities and Curiosities Expo we’ll be appearing at until they’re sold, beginning with Albuquerque 3/9-10. Houston and Dallas after that.
Much gratitude to Wellcome Collection and the work that they do to host, preserve and share such a comprehensive database of human health and history.
