Tulsa Punk Rock Flea Market 2021
Today was a big success. 🎉
It was our first time out in the world representing the Strong and Hardy brand and I’m so proud of us. We made a lot of sales, and equally importantly: we received so much incredible support and feedback. (Several people told us we had the best booth at the festival which was the greatest compliment we could ever hope to receive!)
I was especially anxious about this simply because, though I have been a graphic designer for nearly 20 years now, this is the first time I am utilizing my skills as a graphic designer to create art, as opposed to what I’ve been doing with it since I graduated college: working as a designer for an employer on a full time basis. There is of course nothing wrong with that and in fact, I’ll be jumping back into that soon (in addition to this side venture!) It’s just so nice to know there is a market and an audience for the art I enjoy creating in my free time. (Especially nice since my photography endeavors have kinda been paused for a while with no real idea when or if I’ll ever fully jump back in).
Anyway, thanks to everyone who came out today to support us! Extra thanks to those who purchased something (support your local artists!) and sending my gratitude to you all who are following us and supporting us virtually. I promise we will have an online shop up very soon! In the meantime, I’m thinking about taking orders via IG until we get our actual shop up. If anyone likes that idea, let us know!
P.S. We also sold a lot of greeting cards today and that makes my heart extra happy because it means not only are people buying my art, they’re buying my writing as well. 🖤 (And Mike’s too! He writes the funnier punny cards; that ain’t my strength 😆)
P.p.s. Big thanks to @artxcassandraxelaine for the photos you snapped of us!
